Side Project Jerky
Completed Project
Inspiration
The owner of the beef jerky company, Side Project Jerky, reached out to me via Instagram and asked me to create a short animation. He had seen a personal project I made where I animated a claw machine and wanted to do something similar for his project.

Side Project Jerky Images
I took images of the packets of beef jerky I was sent and painted them onto the models in Zbrush to get them to look just like the product.

I made sure to send multiple in progress images as well as the playblast file to make sure it was to the client's liking before I rendered it.

Side Project Jerky Process
Since it was Christmas time, he wanted me to make the vending machine and scene Christmas-themed. He wanted the animation to be a boy winning one of the packets of his company's beef jerky.

I did a quick storyboard of the animation and set to work modeling the scene as well as the character. I opted for a cartoony style for the boy and the client loved the look. I modeled, rigged, textured, and animated the character in Autodesk Maya.
